Card Details
I loved making this card. I had to get creative when I discovered that I forgot to buy pattern paper from the new catalog! Don’t worry, I have some on it’s way now and I will show that off in future blog posts 🙂 I do love this set. It has some great sentiments for thinking of you, congratulations, or encouraging cards. I also just love the lights! I can’t wait to create more with this stamp set!
I cut a top opening base from Candy Apple. I used a sheet of white Daisy for the front and experimented with the card front stencils. I used the diagonals and I love the way it turned out. I just sponged Candied Apple Distressed Oxide over the stencil, then I cleaned the stencil, flipped it and sponged again to get my crossing diagonal lines pattern.
I stamped the lights on top in Archival black. I was afraid the soft light image wouldn’t show very well over my background, so I stamped the lights again on lemonade paper and cut them out. I then glued the cut out images onto my black stamped images to have lit bulbs.
Finally I added a white Daisy sheet to the inside for a sentiment. I chose “be a light for all to see.” I also stamped the string of hearts from the set as a bottom border.
I think it turned out really cute. Hope you like it too.
I hope you enjoyed your visit. I’d love for you to leave a comment before you “Hop” on over to Melissa’s blog and check out her work.
Happy hopping!
