Pal’s Blog Hop: My Summer Vacation

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, we are sharing our favorites from the new catalog. We know you will be inspired by all the creations the Pals share with you! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Card Details

Since I’m a teacher, summer is when I really have time to get creative and make lots of cards. So any card fits our theme because I made lots of cards during summer vacation. However, this one also felt summery to me. I loved the sunny sky colors and the flowers!

I also love the way this fun fold shows the whole scene from our Thoughtful Journeys paper.

Dimensions

  • Card Base: Balmy Blue

    Cut at 4.25X5.5 and scored at 1.5 and 4.25

  • Designer Series Paper: Thoughtful Journey

    Cut the scene down to 5.25 then cut strips at 2 and 3/4, 1 and 1/8, and 2 and 1/8

  • Designer Series Paper: Thoughtful Journey Memories and More

    2.5 X 5.25

  • Scrap

    White to die cut oval for sentiment

Directions

  • Create and fold the card base

    Fold the card in half (at the 4.25 score line) then fold the other score line back over the top.

  • Attach the scene

    Open the card to glue the scene DSP. Start with the right end (2 and 1/8 by 5 and 1/4) and glue it near the right score line. Add the skinny piece on the other side of the score line. Finally, add the biggest piece being careful to glue only the left half of the piece. It will go on the part of the card that is folded back so it will show on the front and when the card is open.

  • Decorate 🙂

    I added a strip from Thoughtful Journeys Memories and more to cover the rest of the part hat shows when the card is closed.

  • Sentiment

    I added a sentiment (Happy Birthday) From the Unbounded Love Stamp Set. I used the dies from the same set to cut the oval and then stamped using Balmy Blue. Be sure to only add glue to the right side of the sentiment!
