Stitch It Up Challenge Card

This card was inspired by the Double Trouble Challenge “Stitch It Up.” I also followed Thing Two’s Advice and joined the Sketch challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch. Hope you can come play too!

Thing One’s challenge was to “stitch it up.” So, I decided to literally add stitching. I have never added any actual stitching to my cards before, but I figured this was the perfect reminder to use a die cut that was meant to have stitching around the outside. I like the way it turned out – the silver stitching really finishes it. Thanks for the inspiration Thing 1!

Card Details

This card really was a lot of fun. It is really satisfying to use up extra materials! This throwback Thursday card features a retired pack called Stitched Together (I thought it was perfect for this challenge). I used the heart Thin cut and sentiment stamp that came in the card workshop set. I stitched around the outside with Silver Embellishing Thread. I also added a bit of floss to the thin line of Smoothie Cardstock. The background for the heart is cut from Sapphire Cardstock using the Stitched Circles Thin Cut. The entire base is made using Sapphire Cardstock.

To decorate the envelope, I just cut a piece of the pattern paper, glued it to the flap, and trimmed the extra. It’s a super simple step that adds alot!

I hope you like the card and have enjoyed your visit.

Happy Stamping,

A favorite paperpack and a great interpretation of the sketch. Love the stitching in both the paper and how you included using that thin twine around your sentiment… creative. Thanks for sharing with us again at Double Trouble and AHSC, and hope you join us at Double Trouble for more future fun challenges.

What a sweet card, Stefanie! Many years ago I found some fabric similar to this and used it to sew some accents for my step-daughter’s bedroom. I think that is why I was drawn to this CTMH Paper Packet that you have used beautifully. Thank you for joining us at Double Trouble Challenge #70.
