Card Details
This card was so much fun to make. I had to get creative when I discovered that I forgot to buy pattern paper from the new catalog! Don’t worry, I have some on it’s way now and I will show that off in future blog posts 🙂 I do love this set. The title sentiment, “You Warm My Heart,” is perfect for winter and Christmas cards, and all the rest are fun too. I can’t wait to create more with this stamp set!
Now on to the card. . . I cut a piece of White Daisy that would fully cover the card, so I could easily stamp the border and have the option of starting over if I needed (who hasn’t had to turn the page over and stamp again at least once!). I used the little flower (that matches the mug) to stamp in Scarlet around the edge of my cover piece. Then I added Blue Belle to make a mat for the Scarlet paper.
I stamped the mug in Scarlet and used the little oval stamp to add almond for the coffee inside. It’s so cute! Then I used my basic and stitched circle dies to cut the White Daisy and Blue Bell circles.
Finally, I used Micro-Tip non-stick scissors to cut out the mug.
My fiance suggested putting the sentiment inside the mug, so I used a craft knife to make a slit in the stamp so I could slide the sentiment down a bit to look like it was in the cup. I think that was the perfect finishing touch.
I hope you enjoyed your visit. I’d love for you to leave a comment before you “Hop” on over to Kathy’s blog and check out her work.
Here is an assembly video for this card!
Happy Hopping!
